Job Overview:
We are presently in search of a seasoned Senior Hydrogeologist to enhance our Fourmile Project Team. The ideal candidate will be central to managing our site's groundwater systems, playing a pivotal role in hydrogeologic analysis, modeling, and remediation tasks. This role requires a profound understanding of field operations and adherence to regulatory frameworks associated with water utilization and land reclamation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct sophisticated hydrogeologic analyses to inform strategic decision-making for mine operations and closure plans.
- Direct and coach technical staff, providing leadership and growth opportunities.
- Gather and assimilate hydrogeologic data to inform and optimize dewatering operations, ensuring clarity of communication with stakeholders and leadership.
- Perform rigorous hydrogeologic assessments, identifying potential risks and opportunities, and disseminating those findings to relevant parties.
- Facilitate ongoing dialogue across multiple departments to achieve objectives, leveraging cross-functional knowledge and expertise.
- Oversee financial aspects of hydrogeologic initiatives, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for project-based tasks.
- Analyze and interpret technical data related to water resources, advocating for effective water conservation, disposal, and reuse strategies.
- Develop detailed reports on groundwater and surface water systems.
- Manage and direct external consultant relationships, utilizing computational models to probe hydrogeologic specifics.
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of ten years of professional experience, with a strong preference for candidates with a background in the mining sector.
- Expertise in water well systems, hydraulic flows, and well field dynamics.
- Proficient understanding of hydrogeologic and hydrologic principles and practices.
- Capable of analyzing complex data sets and articulating findings both in writing and verbally.
- Proficient with hydrogeologic modeling software and techniques.
- Strong appreciation for regulatory requirements relevant to water management in the mining context.
