Barrick Gold Corporation seeks an experienced Hydrogeologist to join our Grants Reclamation Project (GRP) closure site team. The successful candidate will lead the groundwater monitoring program and support environmental initiatives and regulatory compliance efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership and Analysis

  • Conduct advanced hydrogeologic analyses

  • Provide strategic operational and closure recommendations

  • Lead and mentor technical staff

Data Management and Reporting

  • Oversee collection, analysis, and interpretation of hydrogeologic data

  • Manage the preparation and timely submission of periodic reports

  • Ensure effective communication of findings to stakeholders and management

Project and Budget Management

  • Develop and manage budgets for hydrogeologic work

  • Forecast project needs and communicate effectively across all initiatives

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to site-specific NRC License SUA-1471 and NMED Permit DP-200

  • Maintain compliance with Standard Operating Procedures

Water Management

  • Assist in developing water management strategies

  • Support data management initiatives

Collaboration

  • Work closely with other team members to achieve site objectives

  • Perform additional duties as required

Job requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Hydrology, or Civil Engineering (or related field)

  • 5-10 years of experience in groundwater remediation

Technical Knowledge

  • Advanced understanding of hydrogeology and hydrology principles

  • Familiarity with water well systems, hydraulic flow, and well field balancing

  • Experience with environmental monitoring and compliance

  • Knowledge of hydrogeologic modeling techniques

Skills

  • Strong technical writing and communication abilities

  • Proven ability to work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams

  • Proficiency in MS Office, EQuIS, GIS, and other relevant software
