Job description
Nevada Gold Mines seeks a skilled Fixed Maintenance Superintendent to oversee underground maintenance operations at our Turquoise Ridge site in Winnemucca, NV. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective maintenance of fixed plant and electrical equipment in our underground mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Safety
Lead and mentor the underground Fixed Maintenance team
Develop work schedules and ensure appropriate staffing levels
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments
Ensure compliance with MSHA, state, and federal regulations
Maintenance Operations
Oversee planned and unplanned maintenance activities
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
Manage major projects, shutdowns, and equipment overhauls
Ensure all work adheres to company standards and safety guidelines
Financial Management
Develop and manage the Fixed Maintenance and Electrical budget
Track and report on maintenance costs
Implement cost-saving initiatives
Approve requisitions for parts, equipment, and services
Performance Improvement
Drive initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
Review equipment performance data to identify trends and issues
Collaborate with engineering and operations to implement long-term solutions
Provide regular updates and reports to senior management
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with operations, engineering, and safety departments
Ensure effective communication with planning, inventory, and procurement teams
Collaborate with Maintenance Engineering to align with company standards
Job requirements
Education
High school diploma required
Trade certification, Associate's degree (AS/AAS), or Bachelor's degree (BS) preferred
Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered
Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in mining or construction
At least 8 years of supervisory experience, demonstrating progressive leadership responsibilities
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Strong computer literacy and ability to work with complex systems
